Water-break-its-neck

Some years ago when James was still in a push chair we went to Water-break-its-neck. I left Sandra, James, Jacob and Ben paddling in a stream while I went ahead to check we were going the right way.

I found it was the right way and walked back along the little gorge. Just before I got back to Sandra and the boys I started running full pelt, then shouted “Run! Bears!!” as loudly as I could. Jacob and Ben dropped the stones they were playing with and shot off leaving Sandra and James behind. It was hilarious.

So we went back to see water-break-its-neck some maybe 10 years later. Taken a while really considering it’s just up the road. The fall is nice. Not a big drop but more like a stream going over lots and lots of tiny little falls. The gorge it’s in is a bit like something from Jurassic Park. After seeing the fall we went around the gorge on a short walk. Bit of a climb and not a great view of the fall from above but it was an okay walk.
