We took the blow up boat I bought for a tenner at the seaside up to Pant y llyn. I’d also got a buoyancy aid and we had a rope, just to be on the safe side. James got in and had a bit of a row. There was a slight breeze but he could have rowed across to the other side.
Having seen the fun James was having Jacob was keen to have a go. Unfortunately he decided to get in without checking for sharp objects like rocks. I tried lifting the boat over the rocks with him in it but I fear it was already to late. Bubbles came gushing up like a bad case of flatulence. Alas, the good ship Williams was holed.
I think we’d been there all of ten minutes and five with the boat. James was hoping to take it round the other side and take an umbrella and sail over, but he didn’t get the chance. We might be able to fix the whole with some glue and bicycle inner tube.
We had lunch and a drink and then as it was pretty hot so we left the boys and Sandra and I walked round the lake, looking at the Canada geese and the damselflies. When we came back James was knocking down the tents that Jacob kept building with much laughter.
